Reading about Wombats
Peas and Carrots anyone?
Fall colours
I let her be naked for two seconds and look at the carpet
That's Miss Becel, thank you very much

She is getting so big!

Where has the time gone, really where? Bug is already ten months old, she is practically driving... Life is going by faster than anyone tells you, actually everyone tells you life goes by faster the older you get but I don't think you can ever really prepare for it. Being a Mommy has been wonderful with its fair share of challenges. I love being at home with her more than I ever thought possible and watching her grow and develop has been unbelievable. She changes every day and just when I think we have a routine established the day starts again and all bets are off.

Here are some highlights, sorry no pictures yet

1. sometimes we just sit on the couch together and she wraps her legs around my waist and we have a friendly screaming contest interspersed with high pitched giggling and a few bouts of fake coughing (this usually precedes the giggling)
2. we play "where's daddy", this game is really fun for the whole family. Jewel and I will walk behind a wall or a door and ask the question, "Where's Daddy?" at which point Jewel will fanatically look to the left and right while dad sneaks up and tickles her, followed by infectious squeals and giggles. Adrian and I end up exhausted and sweaty while Jewel bounces for more. Don't worry we continue the game by running around the house, we don't get sweating by just walking around the door.
3.watching her eat tiny pieces of food... she can sometimes be so focused and delicate and others she just flails her hands wildly thought the food with glee spreading it on the floor, in her hair and sometimes on dad;)
4.watching her read to herself on the floor. She finds a book opens it up (usually backwards and upside down) and talks to all the creatures inside. This often gets intense and she lays a few wallops down if the story isn't going her way.

A few things I don't love or maybe are just this week’s challenge

1. getting her dressed, undressed or changing her diaper. She hates being put on her back, having shirts over her head, putting her arms through sleeves and pretty much anything that has to do with clothing.

Okay maybe that's it, not too bad I must say! I guess it seems less painful when I write it out

So what does she do now, or what we refer to as "tricks"

1.offers us food and her suckie aka soother, then quickly takes it away, finding it the best practical joke ever invented
2.walks along furniture or with our fingers
3.stands on her own for a few seconds or until she realizes she is not holding onto anything
4.dances when she hears music and loves her music class
5.says mumma, dadada, kitty kat, duck, dog (the last three are used interchangeably with the last three, as in sometimes a cat is a duck etc.)
6.loves peek-a-boo games
7.prefers cut up broccoli to apple sauce
9.bites everything; she has 6 teeth
10.crawls over everything, but if she sees you she will just whine for you to pick her up
11.has the most infectious laugh I have ever heard
12.wraps her arms around your neck if she really wants to be with you (this is my favorite and it make me weepy just thinking about)

Oh yeah, she is still pretty tiny, tiny good though, small jeans run in the family. I don't think she even weighs 18 pounds yet and she is about at tall as her 7 and 8 month old friends but she eats lots of food and is still breast feeding, for those of you that care (yes it is a bit trickier with the 6 teeth but we manage). She is wonderful little lady and I love being her mom, everyday is truly miraculous!
