Jewel's first campfire and mini hike

On March 19th Mommy, Daddy and Jewel headed off to Lindamin lake to hang out with our friends the Potrais' (family of nine with 7 boys). They were camping up there but we just stopped by for a little visit. Jewel wasn't so impressed when we first got there because of the smoke and the rain, but we managed to get her comfy and she enjoyed the rest of our visit. The boys were reading up on the wildlife that they may possibly encounter before the trip and were terrified of meeting a bear, so they took all the normal precautions. They did however meet one tiny teddy, but the cub proved to be fairly friendly;)

A Poem to My Uncle

Both giving me the evil eye...
And then sticking their tongues out!

Uncle Brett is so nice

He smells like Old Spice

He wears his pants really baggy

He makes the streets nice and taggy

Sometimes we play

at the end of a day

I love my Uncle Brett

I'm his favorite pet!

News News News

Jewel has finally reached 10lbs, well actually 10lbs 2 oz as of March 8th!!! She is doing really well and hardly spitting up anymore, which is really nice. Adrian and I were a little worried when we first brought her home because she wasn't gaining weight as fast as she should have been and she could spit up like no baby I have ever seen. But all seems to be settling now so we are thrilled. She holds her head up on her own (since about February 24th or so) and tries to play with her toys, she bats at them and if she accidently gets ahold of them, they go straight to her mouth. We are convinced she is a real genius! She is still sticking her tongue out all the time and it has kinda become a trademark, that and her hair. We can't leave the house without someone saying, "WOW! look at all that hair", followed by "Aw she is sticking her tongue out". I guess that is better than "What an ugly baby", not that she is but I am just saying that would be worse. Jewel is smiling all the time and loves time with her daddy the best. When Adrian gets home from work and talks with Jewel she lights up and talks back like a little chatterbox! Jewel also likes to pretend to stand and gets very excited when we stand her on our knees.

On March 10th she attended her first wedding, thanks Bee and
Chris for the invite. She was absolutely wonderful and slept through the entire ceremony. Between the ceremony and reception the three of us visited with Joel, Naomi and Baby Ella (only 7 days old). Ella is beautiful and was very cooperative at the wedding, sleeping through the whole thing as well. Jewel got lots of snuggles at the reception from Destiny, Audrey and Pastor Loretta. When the music started Jewel and I danced around and she loved it! The wedding was fantastic and excellent practice for her, as she is in Crystal and Bryan's wedding this May; Jewel is going to be one of the flower girls!!!

a secret interview gone bad...

sometimes she even sounds like a dolphin...

BABY DEDICATION!

Oh, I forgot to mention our little Bug was dedicated on Febraury 18th. She was adorable and the crowd ate her up! Thanks Pastor John!

A Busy February

This month Jewel got to bathe in the "big person tub". As she seems to spit up quite a bit and give off a fowl "cheese-like" odour we spend a lot of time in the tub. The best part is styling her unruly hair afterwards...

Then there have been some wonderful daddy-daughter moments...

Chillin' with her Bishop at Bee and Chris' wedding shower! Well Ashley is not actually a bishop, but she was worried "Auntie" would be overused and wanted a more original title. If anyone has a bisphop's hat I would love to give it to her!

Lots of love and giggles with her Mammie!
Many hours spent sleeping, here she may be listening to lullabyes on her iPod.
She does sleep through the night about 95% of the time, so we are super thankful.

Ella is here!

Jewel and I went to the hospital on Saturday to meet her new friend Ella. Ella's parents are the fabulous Joel and Naomi who were over-joyed to meet their gorgeous little girl.
