Can I pay my legal fees with pampers?
I just had this crazy dream where my parents put me to sleep beside a stuffed unicorn so they could take foolish pictures of me.
Wait... that better not be what I think it is...
COME ON!!! That's it... I've had enough!
*sniff* I mean... when will this ever end? I try to be a good baby... and this is the thanks I get
FINE! This is the final straw! You've messed with the wrong tot! You are SO getting sued for libel if this makes the papers!
And so are you... mister 'I'm-so-tall'
(Whoa... first time back-talking to my parents... feel the rush!)
WHAT?!?! Trying to 'pacify' the world's cries for justice, are we?
(pu-twoee) GATHER 'ROUND FOLKS! See the repression of my rights?!?! It's W.T.O. all over again.FIGHT THE POWER!!!

Baby Shower at Marc and Sanja's
Jewel attended her second shower on January 21st at Marc and Sanja's house. What an amazing afternoon... Jewel is so loved already and she knows it... she told us on the way home, I think she might have been bragging!
She had tons of people show up to her shower and she was loved on and cuddled like crazy. Although Mammie (Jewel's Grandma Chris) was at the party, Jewel was able to do her rounds, cuddling and spiting-up on a few unsuspecting friends. Mammie tends to hog her little grandbaby, but she was very well behaved at the party (I let her burp Jewel and change a few diapers... nice of me, eh?) and allowed a baby pass around.
The party was amazing and we ate like kings and queens... thanks to the Poitras Gang and Michelle for all your time and food preparation, kudos to Johnny for the veggie platters! Jewel also ate like a Queen, just as the gift opening was to begin, she decided it was time to wake from her 3 hour slumber and eat, a girl who normally eats for 15 minutes max, ate for 35 min and then had a very messy diaper change (the kind where she waits until you have the clean diaper under her butt and then pees some more)! She must understand when we call her a princess! Prior to the gift opening our wonderful friends Lauren and Janine toasted precious baby Jewel, we laughed and shed a few tears, it was a very touching and humorous moment... we all realized Lauren is funny man! Jewel received many beautiful gifts including: books, shoes, clothes, cute duck socks, music CD's, a hand-made blankie and lots of loot (she is going shopping at Baby's World for a new running stoller... did I say "she", I meant "Daddy"). Thank you all so much!!!!
A big thank you to Michelle, who created this fantastic memory board for all the party guests to sign... what an amazing keepsake, it will go up in Jewel's room when I finally get around to painting it.
We love you all and are so thankful to have friends like you in our life. The Powers Trinity sends many thanks to all of you for you kindness, gifts and love!!! I must quote my bookstore mentor Linda Carlson when I say, "the best part of life is who you get to do it with"!
P.S. If anyone took pictures can you please send them to us at adrianlizpowers@shaw.ca, we forgot to take our camera out of the bag that night.
Baby Shower... or Baby Swap Meet?
Jewel attended her first Baby Shower on January 20th. Thank you to Gabe, Amy and Owen for hosting a fabulously fun shower! Jewel had great fun cuddling everyone at the party and meeting her friend Presley for the first time (she had already met her boyfriend Owen). The food was fabulous and Jewel received many wonderful gifts! Thank you to Wendy Spice for the hand made pink sweater, she will look adorable in it. Thanks to T.J. and Jen for the baby set and the hand print kit, we haven't tried it yet but I am super excited for it! Thank you so much to all my friends at Barton Insurance for the first class baby monitor, like Amy said "it is made to keep the kid alive"! We had the best time and so appreciate the love from all our friends!
Thanks to T.J. and Jen... but next shower you need to bring a baby!

The ultimate couch potato!
This is what can happen to you if all you do is breastfeed and sleep... you'll end up half naked on your couch, with rolls in your wrists, wearing a diaper and dreaming of boobies.Baby Girl's first international package
Our sweet friend Katie from New York sent Jewel a little something from the lower 49.
Cuter toes I have yet to see
This really isn't an update or anything along those lines... more so I just wanted to let everyone know that our daughter has SUPER cute toes!

Baby's first four days at home...
Hi Everyone,
I am Jewel and I wanted to share a few of my 'firsts':
-first visit from Health Nurse Heidi: had cold hands, thought her job title and name sounded like a super hero
-first night at home: mistook it for a college frat party... stayed up late and spit-up all over the place
-first manicure: look great but still waiting on the pedi
-first bubble bath: put up a good fight
-first straight-trajectory poo shooting: missed mom... will require more practice
-first successful escape from the house: my parents had to drive me
-first of many photos with my friend the unicorn: ha!... like they’re really that soft
-first visit to walmart: people did NOT respect my privacy (must look into getting a 'pope-mobile')
-first ‘death-stare’ at the lady not respecting my privacy: shocked she lived through it
-first visit to Nana & Papa's: pretended to sleep the whole time... suckers!
